Often, all it takes is just one new idea to change the way you think about your business. It’s what happened to this mother who transformed her web design business after seven years of stagnation with the help of the Client Acquisition Formula.
Before discovering WP Elevation, Jeanette Elton was a stay-at-home mum trying to build her web design business – Bloom Creative.
She never fully committed despite being in the industry for almost seven years. The main thing that stopped her was having to care for her elderly parents who were ill, as well as her son. When she found out that her son had diabetes, she knew she’d have to spend a lot of time at home.
Getting back to a regular 9-5 job was no longer an option.
Jeanette had to accept every client because her family needed money. For the first seven years of her business, she couldn’t afford help and she had to do everything alone. This single mum worked long hours developing websites for £500.
She was working all the time, but their finances weren’t getting any better.
Jeanette was wasting her precious time advising her clients almost for free. She knew that there must be a way to improve, but she didn’t know how. Nor did she have the time to experiment.
She desperately needed change – something to help her take her business to the next level. And that’s when she learned about WP Elevation.
What Happened After WP Elevation?
After she completed our Blueprint course, everything changed for her, starting with her mindset.
According to Jeanette, one of the best things was that she learned how to filter clients.
Before, she worked with clients on a tight budget who were often late with payments. WP Elevation made her realise there were people out there willing to pay far more than she was charging for her services.
She raised her fees for web design and as a result, she attracted more serious clients who appreciated the quality of her work and the value she’s providing. Testimonials on her website helped her attract even better clients who she enjoyed collaborating with.
Some of her low-paying clients left, but it turned out to be a good thing because it left her with more time to focus on her new clients.
After years of working alone and stressing to make ends meet, Jeanette was finally able to hire an assistant. It all started as a part-time arrangement, but the two of them were getting more and more work, so she decided to hire the assistant full-time – something that she couldn’t have imagined just a couple of months before.
She now helps another woman work from home, just like she did. And it’s a life-changing experience. Since Jeanette delegated part of her work, she was finally able to take her first weekend off. The change didn’t only positively affect her business but also her life and family.
After achieving sweet success with the Blueprint, she decided to sign up to the Client Acquisition Formula.
Jeanette is now ready to take her business to even greater heights and is doing so using the best lead generation strategies. She says that the most challenging part was to start and open herself to new opportunities. Once she overcame that, she realised that the only limits are the ones that we set for ourselves.
Jeanette’s story is an excellent example of how simple changes can bring us great results. We can learn a lot from her experience, as well as from the mistakes she made before implementing the Client Acquisition Formula.
Here are some major takeaways from her story:
Lesson #1. Don’t Let Imposter Syndrome Hold You Back.
At one point, Jeanette felt stuck although she knew everything she needed to know.
The course helped her realise that she was standing in her own way. She was afraid of success. That’s typical imposter syndrome preventing you from taking action because you think you’re not good enough. That’s just not true, and you need to overcome it.
Once she got rid of those limiting beliefs, Jeanette’s business expanded like never before.
Lesson #2. The Right Fit is So Important When Selecting Clients.
As your business grows, you’ll realise that not all clients are the right fit for you. And that’s actually the good news!
It’s impossible to please everyone, and you should be careful when choosing who you want to work with. It’s essential to make sure you’re on the same page, and money is just one part of it. You should always ask essential questions to check whether you’ll be a good match. While you should be tactical and polite, you also need to get information about their plans for your collaboration, budget, and so on.
With the right attitude, you’ll soon find clients who are willing to pay for quality work, just like Jeanette did.
Lesson # 3. Systems, Processes, and Scripts Boost Your Confidence.
Jeanette didn’t have previous experience in sales or marketing. But the sales scripts that we provided in the Client Acquisition Formula helped her take her game to the next level. For the first time in her life, she was making outreach calls. And best of all, she loved it.
All she needed was something to push her and give her additional confidence. And knowing that even if she was to get confused during the call, she always had the scripts to rely on made her more confident.
You don’t need to be a sales expert in order to sell your services professionally. We provided systems and strategies that are proven to work. And after a few calls, Jeanette’s confidence improved as if she had been doing it for years.
A Formula That Changed Everything
As you can see, a few essential moves were enough to transform a stay-at-home mum into a successful business owner.
Jeanette didn’t change much in the way she worked. What she did change was her mindset and the way she approached clients.
Everything starts with the right attitude and understanding what kind of clients you want to work with. For Jeanette, she implemented a few powerful tactics and her ideal clients came naturally.
